    Great Columbian food!

Although we were the only customers there during a weekday, we were serviced really well.

I will get right to the food part as it was truly enjoyable!

I ordered the soursap fruit juice and it tasted great!

For the appetizer I ordered a few Columbian empanadas which were freshly cooked and it came with a sauce that apparently was delicious, but I wouldn't know because I don't eat spicey.

I also ordered the muscles, and they were so delicious that I wanted to order another one!! But I still had my main entree coming.
The sauce they used for the muscles was emphasised when you added the fresh lemon onto it. Very saucy !!! and it came with bread which I needed more of because I had to finish the sauce!!!
    Finally the main entrance Bandeja.
This was slightly different than some other Latin American countries because it came with a huge piece of bacon!
I've never seen bacon like this before. Very fattening but ok to nibble on.
The beans were cooked really well and the plantain just perfect!!!!

Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert but I most definitely will be back.

The lady who served us was attentive and super nice. Her smile was genuine and she truly appreciated our service.

    Keep up the great work!!!

    Great Colombian food!

The place is a little too dark and their times are not accurate, they close different hours. Then I would first recommend you to call before going there.

To eat I have two recommendations:

The Bandeja Paisa: it's a really big plate, I can never finish it. But every single item is amazing!!! Ohhh they have a real (I said REAL) bacon pieces, really well fried and not oily at all! The avocado is always fresh, the beef is tender... ah you need to try it!

For dessert: Figs with fresh cheese and Dulce de Leche. I don't even know how to explain it, because it's so simple but so tasty!
The figs are in a kind of a syrup and it comes in pieces, also with the pieces of fresh cheese. Then you eat then with the Dulce de Leche, soooooo good!

You need to go and try, then you will understand me!

At work I asked a Colombian co-worker where in Toronto could I find the best Colombian restaurant, and she recommended Mi Tierra. I enjoy Peruvian food very much, had wonderful experiences in Chile and Argentina, but never had Colombian cuisine before, so I was very excited.

Mi Tierra is a small restaurant with unique decor on St. Clair, west of Christie, a little unpolished gem.

As per my co-worked recommendation, I ordered Bandeja Paisa. It is a huge dish, comprised of rice, seasoned beans, grilled beef, sausage (chorizo), bacon (chicharron), fried egg, avocado, fried plantain (madura) and a biscuit. There is a smaller dish on the menu called Bandeja Tipica, which is like Bandeja Paisa minus sausage and avocado, which is more than enough for a person. I really enjoyed the experience and the different meats, but the flavor was not exactly of my taste. I'm sure the problem is my lack of familiarity with Colombian cuisine, rather than the food itself.

Service was friendly. Parking is available on the street along St. Clair. Easy TTC access.

Incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. Food was savoury but the portion was extremely small for the price. The $21 bandeja paisa is tiny!!! They just throw the food on top of each other to make it look like it's a lot but Its on a small plate and you're left hungry. We will never be going there again because my whole family left upset that we wasted so much money on tiny ass plates! Please save yourself from wasting your money on this place. I recommend Los Arrieros on Jane street their prices are the same but you actually get your money's worth! The plates are huge and the food is delicious. You won't be left hungry.
Mi Tierra does not deserve customers because they are literally robbing your money. Expensive prices for tiny tiny plates. You're spending a lot of money to just leave hungry. Hope I save you from here.

Decided to pop in and try some new (to us) cuisine, it was delicious!
I had the sole which was meaty and tender with a perfectly crisp batter (to die for) paired it with a salad and plantain. The patties were also really tasty and just enough with that sauce.
My friend opted for the owners recommendation, and there was nothing left on his plate. Despite the appearance of the beef it was well done but tender, the beans were full of flavour and the portion was large. I'd definitely go back and recommend.
